We use "adventure levels" on cabin pages that have a spice scale. These are all different ways that we communicate how adventurous each walk-in to each cabin is. The spicier the walk, the more metres and the higher the walking grade.
This means that for a cabin marked as "spicy" or "extra spicy" on our website walking to your cabin will be more strenuous and it's likely you'll have a steep incline. Spice also indicates the level of isolation - e.g. mild you're more likely to be closer to civilisation.
How to prepare for a spicy cabin stay?
1. Wear good walking shoes or hiking boots.
2. Pack light and we recommend taking your belongings in a backpack, not the wheelbarrow.
3. Always have a full water bottle before you head off on your walk.
4. Know the route before you go by reading the directions section of your field guide and checking your expedition in photos. We send your field guide out with your confirmation email after booking.
5. Arrive in the daylight - we recommend as close to 3pm check in as possible to maximise your time before the sun sets.
6. Pre-prepare your food and snacks for your stay - les packaging & volume = less weight to carry
7. Ask us! Our team are here to help and have all the knowledge you need to be prepared for your adventure.
We don't recommend spicy walks for inexperienced hikers, adventurers with heart conditions or anyone who is pregnant. We don't offer refunds or discounts for guests that have difficulty with the walking track.
